Shopping spaces create continuous patterns of streets of malls that expand with the city or make the city expand, spreading like an infection. The shopping spaces are loosing their purpose because of higher demand for online shopping and the changes that have come with the pandemic. The biggest companies have begun to close down their retail stores.

Public-Infester is a proposal to reclaim these properties and to reconquer the city center from consumerism. The infesters spread from one building to the other, rip apart the spaces of consumerism and bring new public programs throughout the city center. Public-infester proposes an alternative future for the city center. An answer to what happens when the shopping is gone?
