An Atlas of Rituals, Bitonto

Openact Architecture.

Type: Professional

Status: Second Prize, EUROPAN 16

This project was a collaborative work as part of my internship with OpenAct Architecture and submitted to the Europan competition. I contributed from the beginning research to the final sketches and designs. I led initial site research. I have drawn and created the ecological layer of the map and three of the axonometric drawings. I contributed to the context and programming of the proposed spaces. The project is a proposal to revitalize the small towns near Bitonto, Italy by activating their disused squares, turning them into intersecting points of social, community programs. Guided by the historical heritage of the city, we proposed routes related to scientific research, nature and social activities such as festivals. As new event centers, these squares were able to strengthen the sense of identity in the satellite towns which are losing population to the bigger cities.
